About Florida Botanical Gardens


The Gardens are a 100-acre Park, managed by the Pinellas County Parks and Conservation Resources Department, that inspires and educates visitors by showcasing flora, fauna and natural resources in motivational surroundings that promote environmentally friendly techniques.

A Place for Children to Learn and Explore

The Florida Botanical Gardens Foundation presents the plans to build the new Majeed Discovery Garden (MDG) at the Florida Botanical Gardens. We have been working on this project for the last year and a half, and we are very excited to announce it to the public.

Total Estimated construction cost is $2,600,000 including design, permits, and construction

$700,000 has been secured from additional donors, including a generous gift from the David Berolzheimer Foundation.

The Majeed Foundation has contributed $1,000,000.

The Florida Botanical Garden Foundation has provided $500,000 for the initial costs.

Annual operational cost will be a function of general maintenance, programming, events, staffing requirements and volunteer participation
